We developed modern packaging design for the Zelovoc brand, a name rich in Slovak tradition. The brand is deeply rooted in the 1980s, when fresh fruits and vegetables were sold in dedicated shops. Our task was to reflect this nostalgia and emphasize the importance of freshness and Slovak origins through the design, creating a timeless consumer experience.
Our collaboration with Zelovoc began with understanding the deep emotional connection the brand holds with Slovak consumers. The name "Zelovoc" itself is a nod to the past, evoking memories of a time when fruit and vegetable shops were a central part of daily life in Slovakia. The client's request was clear: they wanted a packaging design that blends tradition with modernity, ensuring that the brand resonates with both long-time and new customers.
In the design process, we focused on simplicity, clarity, and a visual language that emphasizes freshness. The Slovak origin of the products had to be central to the packaging, so we used imagery and colors that naturally evoke a sense of nature and authenticity. For example, the carrot and cabbage designs showcase the fresh produce in a way that feels personal, almost as if the customer is picking it themselves.
We worked closely with the client to ensure the designs were not only attractive but also functional in the retail environment. The packaging needed to stand out on shelves, but also convey trust and the quality of Slovak-grown produce. By using vintage-inspired elements alongside clean, modern typography, we created packaging that tells the story of the brand’s heritage while remaining relevant in today’s market.
Finally, the collaboration was a success because of the mutual respect for tradition and innovation. The result is a packaging system that encapsulates both the nostalgia of the Zelovoc name and the freshness of its products, giving customers a sense of timeless quality.
