The task was to redesign packaging design for gardening and DIY supplies to make them visually engaging. The goal was to create a design that reflects the outdoor lifestyle, incorporating vibrant motifs and nature-inspired elements to appeal to the target audience. This was an opportunity to elevate a product category often overlooked in visual appeal.
The project began with an in-depth consultation with FORTEL - COOP Centrum Czech Republic, where we identified the core values their products embody: simplicity, practicality, and a connection to nature. The challenge was to bring these qualities to life visually while making the products stand out on store shelves.
Through a collaborative brainstorming session, we explored how to integrate sunshine, fresh air, and the joy of gardening into the packaging design. Our design team used a playful color palette, outdoor-themed graphics, and realistic plant imagery to create a sense of energy and connection with nature. The bright yellow, earthy greens, and soft blues were strategically chosen to resonate with gardening enthusiasts.
In addition, we ensured the design elements supported product categorization for effortless recognition. A clean layout paired with bold typography highlights product benefits while maintaining a consistent brand identity. The result was packaging that speaks directly to gardeners while adhering to eco-friendly design principles.
The final deliverables included designs for granular fertilizers, liquid fertilizers, and seed packets, which were crafted with attention to detail. Each product design balances practicality with aesthetics, creating a strong visual impact while retaining functionality for display and storage.
With the new packaging design, FORTEL was able to distinguish itself as a brand that values both visual appeal and product performance. The feedback from the client highlighted the packaging’s role in enhancing their product visibility and engaging customers at the point of sale.
